Do less but better
February 2025
Accountability check
Wrap up some of the ongoing projects —> 🟢 Completed one project and the other one is 99% done, feels good!
Record more of my builds —> 🟢 I have recorded some of my builds using Tella
Share one build on Youtube! —> 🔴 🙈 I keep failing this one month after month
Chat with some people about this Product Studio idea and how to go about it
—> 🟠 Chat with some people about it and planned some concrete actions but I have accepted this is a long term thing. I am going to put my main focus on freelancing this year.
Pains
I was told that “You are so much in the future that you have trouble doing the simple things you need to do now”. It was tough to hear but I believe it’s true, it’s now on me to do something about it!
I have been going into the overthinking hamster wheel a lot this month.
Questions/Insights
How can I plan to do less but be more effective? ———> The problem with having too many projects at the same time is that it’s hard to really move the needle on any of them.
Am I this guy who talks and do nothing? -——> Problem is that when you don’t have a plan and deadlines for the steps you can talk for ages.
What is the plan? ——> Sometimes you might not have a plan but like in chess what you can do is position your pieces ♟️
Wins
I completed the coaching which gave me more confidence
One thing is set myself to do during the coaching was to release a personal website here it is: https://benoitdevilliers.com/ (I have stopped the nolow one)
Completed the first designs for the ADHD related project
Played it takes two this month, awesome coop game if you haven’t tried it!
App Ideas
A personal assistant to discuss with to prioritize my tasks (I am doing this with Claude but it’s not always up to date)
Some ideas for bubble plugins:
segmented control dropdown (where you can also select option that are not of the dropdown datatype)
URL image preview
Next month plan
Write the 4 case studies for my personal website.
Make some progress on the Product Studio idea.
Hope you are doing well!
