Pick your problems for 2025
January 2025
Accountability check
I am attending coaching program starting next week (can't talk more about it, it's kind of secret for now) —> 🟢 It’s been going well the program is intensive (with homework and stuff but I’m learning a lot)
Refine my priorities for the year —> 🟠 I have realised that I should try to do less and do it better. Also I want to conduct some experiments to see what I enjoy best and make decisions accordingly
Keep thinking about that Product Studio idea and how to get there/Who to work with —> 🟠 it’s still really blurry I haven’t figured out the steps to get there (I am wondering if I should go the agency route first)
Pains
Got a bit overwhelmed looking at the work coming up this month
Felt guilty about not even going out a few times since month, the winter vibe is there lol (spent a bit too much time playing Elden Ring since month)
A close friend left Montréal to get back to France for good
Questions
I asked myself again the question “Should I niche down?”/ Should I brand myself as a freelancer instead. (this has been a recurring thought for the past year)
What would be me ideal setup? (how many recurring clients vs new ones)
What am I ok not doing this year?
What are the problems I want to have?
Insights
I have been ruminating this question since the moment I launched and I know it doesn’t really help me. For now I have decided that I would keep my website as is. In order to show proof of my work to clients I have started recording some videos of my builds to showcase my projects.
I am not clear on that topic. I am going to experiment next month and see what works best for me. If I have too much work I’ll consider working with other people.
My fiancée and I decided to pause Dowe.do I have cancelled my subscription and will host the website somewhere else (I want to try webstudio). I am ok not launching one of my apps in 2025. The reason behind that is that I am pretty busy already and have my wedding in June so I don’t want to put too much on my plate.
This last one is an interesting question because you always have problems. We spent our time replacing one problem with another. So we might as well pick problems that seem manageable for us. (I started re-reading The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck from Mark Manson and this framing is refreshing)
Wins
The coaching is pretty cool
I managed to make some progress on the Javascript and Plugin course from Minimum Studio check this tweet to see what I built.
Closed a new client on a cool project related to ADHD
Glad I was able to relax playing on my PS5 🙂
App Ideas
I am skipping it this month, let me know if you want it back!
Next month plan
Wrap up some of the ongoing projects
Record more of my builds
Share one build on Youtube!
Chat with some people about this Product Studio idea and how to go about it
Hope you are doing well!
Thank you for reading me,
Benoît
